rest

A crystal tower started growing out of the ground, the tender Earth nurturing each particle. Every day it grew a little more and a little more.  One day, the Sky People saw the crystal tower struggling.  The tower was very tired that day and was thinking about giving up.  Sister Sky said to the crystal tower, "you are tired."

She said, "come, rest with your family, sister."

The crystal tower went with Sister Sky to rest.  She was tired. O, her back did ache from the ancient armor! O, her shoulders could not remember how to relax! Father Sky and Mother Sky saw this. When crystal tower was asleep, they visited her in her dream. 

They said to her, in two voices and in one, 'you are safe to grow, child."

crystal tower remembered smiling in her sleep, and felt that smile in her heart when she woke up. She offered her deepest gratitude to the Sky People, prepared food with them, and went on becoming her crystal tower.
